![]() ![]() Then my actual fridge would be delivered on Jan 7. I was told the store I ordered from would just give me the loaner fridge and I could just keep it. So the manager of the store I called called the other store for me to work something out. Well it turns out the HomeDepot I called didn't actually have my order as I ordered online and it picked a different store. I'll take what I can get in this situation. They did offer me a loaner fridge until mine could be delivered. So I called and no they can't because of insurance purposes I'm told. She told me to call my local HomeDepot to see if they could pick up the fridge for me and deliver it. THAT'S 2 HOURS LATE!Īnyway, Pat told me the next available delivery would be mid January. ![]() Why didn't the delivery guy who had already called me before to tell me he'd be there in 15 minutes call me to tell me he couldn't fit!? My flight didn't leave until 7:55 so unless he was so late that he called when I was in the air, but even then. Plus, the city had come by and just parked their large truck in the turning lane of the 2 lane street (3 lanes if you count the turning lane) and were able to pick up my fridge no problem.īut this is all beside the point. I spoke with Pat who was very nice and understanding and told me that they driver left a note saying that he couldn't fit the truck at the residence so he'd have to reschedule with a smaller truck. On the way to the mountain to go snowboarding the next day (I was on vacation) I figured I'd call and see what happened as no one had told me anything yet. I have no message no email, nothing to tell me where my fridge is or why it wasn't delivered. When I landed I got a message from my neighbor telling me that the delivery guy never came. By this time, I had 30 minutes to make it to my gate and I made it as the last passenger (they were calling my name as I was running through the airport) with 5 minutes to spare. I had to store it there for $13 a day as there were no more flights available for that day. So I leave for the airport and make it there 40 minutes early but Alaska wouldn't let me check in my snowboard as 40 minutes was the cut off. The delivery guy said that would be fine. Luckily I have nice neighbors and he agreed to help me out and put my stuff in my new fridge. I tell him I didn't have that time and would have to leave, but he could knock on my neighbor's door and he would let him in. Well 6:15 comes along and I get a call from the driver saying he will be 15 minutes. Ok this was leaving me cutting it very close but I figured it'd be really quick to just plug it in to the wall and me throw everything in it (no water lines to hook up or anything). I didn't get a call until 5:45 from HomeDepot's automated system telling me it would be 30 minutes until the delivery guy would be at my house. I emptied my fridge and freezer and put what I could in coolers. The latest I could leave my house was 6:15 to get to the airport on time to check in my bag. This would work out just right as I had a flight to catch at 7:55 pm. The city was scheduled for 8am-10am to pick up the fridge and Homedepot was supposed to deliver my new one from 3pm-6pm. They had a sweet deal where they'll pick it up and give me $30 if it's still in working condition and older than 2001. At the same time, I had my old refrigerator scheduled for pick up from the city. I bought a fridge on cyber Monday and had it scheduled for delivery on Dec 10th.
